Hi Everyone,

Nunawading CC are very pleased to announce that Darren Hill has joined us as First XI captain.

A review of last season’s First XI performance showed that strong and experienced leadership and a more disciplined approach to training is required to change our narrow losses habit into wins and, ultimately, premierships.

In our search to solve this challenge, we were very fortunate to find Darren.

Darren is the Dad of James Hill who has played the last couple of seasons in our U18s. Darren has spent most of his career at the Rowville CC but he also played and captain-coached at several other clubs winning a total of 7 First XI Premierships.

Darren is a bowling all-rounder who has nearly 800 career wickets at 16 as well as over 8000 career runs averaging over 25 with 6 centuries. He has won his club bowling average a staggering 19 times and the batting average 6 times. He has also won 11 premierships at various representative levels.

Darren is a legend of the Ferntree Gully Cricket Association and he offers the opportunity to our young First XI to play with a veteran proven performer who knows how to win.

Cameron Clark has met with Darren and they have agreed that Darren will captain the side this season, allowing Cam to focus on his own game. This will be re-assessed after Christmas.

Welcome and good luck Hilly!
