Frequently Asked Questions

  • Where would we travel ?

All practice sessions and Woolworths Junior Blaster sessions are run at ‘home’ at Mahoneys Reserve. Games are played 50/50 at ‘home’ and ‘away’, Most ‘away’ grounds are located nearby although we play in areas like Doncaster/Templestowe and Park Orchards.

  • How old does my child have to be to play cricket?

There is no age limit although young children need to be able to listen and respond to instructions, concentrate for 5-10 minutes and have a yearning to learn and have fun. That’s it. We take it from there. Children move to different programs as their motor skills and hand/eye co-ordination and interest in the game increase

  • When is the registration period?

We liike all junior players to register before the end of September although there is no cutoff. Cricket season runs from October-March

  • What is included in the registration fee?

Registration covers all playing fees such as new balls and scoring equipment, all practice equipment, contributes to the clubs’ ground hire and association affiliation fees. Older junior age groups and higher senior grades may be expected to make a contribution to cover umpires when present. There are no additional fees to play.

  • How can I register my child?

You can register via the Cricket Australia Online portal or, if this is not convenient, please contact Junior Manager, Andrew Siebel

  • What paperwork do I need to register my child to play cricket?

Nothing other than the registration form. If you will be a Team Manager or Coach, we will ask you to obtain a Working With Children card

  • How much are the registration fees?

Please see the Registration details higher on this page. Please note that our motto is that no one will miss out on playing cricket at Nuna if they can’t afford it.
