Nice to see the sun out today…although the forecast suggests that it won’t last. Here is an update on all things cricket…

Register Now…please!!

ALL players must be registered online via PlayHQ to be eligible to play. Club registration fees are an essential revenue stream for the club and help fund the general cricket club playing costs of ground rentals, association fees, player insurance, balls, equipment and coaching resources. Register now to secure your place.

A family discount applies for those with two or more children registering within the same NCC Junior program.

Cricket Victoria have developed three documents to help you with the registration process (see below and attached).

Cricket ID

    • You may have one already?
    • How to obtain a Cricket ID?
    • Parents create a Cricket ID and then their dependents are on their Cricket ID
    • How to link your Cricket ID on PlayHQ
    • How to claim the profiles on the PlayCricket app (parent and any dependents) using your Cricket ID (can only occur after you have registered on PlayHQ.

Brand New Participant

    • Create your Cricket ID
    • Create your PlayHQ account if you don’t have one.
    • Register as a Player, Team Manager, Coach, Volunteer or Official
    • Link your Cricket ID

Parent

    • Create your Cricket ID as a parent.
    • Create your PlayHQ account if you don’t have one.
    • Register New Family Member
    • Register as a Player
    • Link your Cricket ID will only occur once.

If anyone has any issues creating or linking their cricket ID or claiming their profiles on the PlayCricket APP, please go to the Cricket Australia Support website and submit a request or call them on 1800 CRICKET. PlayCricket Support Cricket Australia

Juniors playing Seniors at Nuna
For Juniors playing Senior cricket at Nunawading Cricket Club, we ask you to register for Juniors only. The club admin will then submit a season permit in the back end of PlayHQ for those players keen to play Senior cricket.

Financial hardship
No one will miss out on playing cricket at Nuna and we understand that periods of financial hardship are a reality for some families. If you would like to discuss alternative registration options confidentially, please reach out to me (Andrew: 0402 260 545) directly.

Parent/player survey

We require ALL families to complete the Nuna Junior family contact information form via this link: https://forms.gle/9yvatGTU8kyHPccz6. Please take 10 minutes to fill out the survey to ensure that our records are up to date and help with team planning.

Playing apparel & merchandise
All Juniors (Super 7s, Fast 9s, U12, U14, U16 & U18) play in the Nuna kangas playing top, which is charged on top of the registration fee. You can get your child’s name (first name, surname OR nickname – you choice, up to 8 letters) and choice of favourite number printed on the back of the shirt, all for only $45.

There is also a Junior girls/Womens playing shirt, which has a slightly different cut and colours also for $45.

All shirt dimensions are on the attached sheet.

All players should also purchase a NCC Playing Cap for $20, if you don’t already have one.

The apparel form is attached, which can be completed and sent back to Glen & Paddy on the emails listed within the spreadsheet. Please allow 4-6 weeks for delivery of personalised tops. SO, ORDER NOW!! If you have any questions, please reach out.

Training

This week we have the last of our indoor training sessions at Topline Cricket, 31 Burgess Rd, Bayswater North. NEW PLAYERS WELCOME!!

U12, U14 & U16, 3 lanes booked to separate ages

Sunday 10th September, 11am-1pm
$5 cash per player

Stage 1/Stage 2 girls session, 2 lanes booked
Sunday 10th September, 11am-12pm

$5 cash per player

Regular season training (exact times TBC) will start week of 18th September (note that this date has been changed):
Mondays – Stage 1/Stage 2 Girls, Social Sixes* & Senior Women*
Tuesdays – U16/U18, followed by Seniors*
Wednesdays – U12/U14
Thursdays – Super 7s/Fast 9s, followed by Seniors*
Fridays – Junior Blasters (starting Friday 13th October)

Note: All teams are supplied with a kit bag for training and game day, which includes protective equipment (helmet, pads, gloves, thigh pad, keeping gear) and bats. However, all children are expected to purchase their own personal protector, as these are not provided by the club.

BHRDCA Junior Season dates
Round 1: Friday 6th October (Sat 7th/Sun 8th Oct)

Last Round before Christmas: Friday 15th December (Sat 16th/Sun 17th Dec)
First Round in the New Year: Friday 19th January (Sat 20th/Sun 21st Jan)
**No games on Australia Day weekend (26th/27th/28th Jan)
Last playing day before Finals: Friday March 1st (TBC Sat 2nd/Sun 3rd Mar)

Child Safety @ Nuna
We are committed to ensuring that every child and young person participates in our sport free of abuse, harassment, bullying or any other form of inappropriate conduct. As a club, we are committed to meet the Victorian Government 11 Child Safe Standards and create a welcoming, safe and inclusive environment for all members in Season 23/24. All of our club volunteers, including Coaches, Assistant Coaches, Team Managers, Senior Captains and Committee Members require a valid Working With Childrens Check to be able to hold that position.
