2021/22 Pre-season Report

This season, we will continue to build on recent growth by further improving our training standards, coaching for all players and child safety. We will again field five senior teams in 2021/22, at least 10 junior teams (including an all-girls Stage 1 team) and a Woolworths Junior Blaster program run on a Friday night.

Nuna’s junior program aspires to be community-focussed. The Club aims to provide an environment which promotes:

  • The opportunity for children to learn about and develop their cricket skills
  • Participation in a safe and friendly team environment
  • A healthy active lifestyle with opportunities and activities which increase fitness
  • A social environment for children and their families to enjoy the company of friends
  • Opportunities for girls and boys to enjoy playing cricket – and to achieve their best
  • Community, supporting each other and overall enjoyment

Registration fees remain competitive with Super 7s/Fast 9s/U12s: $135, U14-U18s: $185, Stage 1 girls: $105 and Blasters: $99. There are spots for new players at all age groups, but we are particularly looking for players in the U12 & U16 age groups.

Junior online registrations are now open!

Junior registration day will be held on Saturday 28th August, 9-11am at the clubrooms (COVID-allowing) where you can ask any questions of the Junior committee, get assistance with registration, meet the coaches and/or pick up new apparel. We will also set up a number of online information sessions prior to the season starting.

Given the current environment and uncertainty around so many things due to COVID-19, I want to reiterate our club’s commitment to the local community and providing an opportunity for young people to participate in community sport. Rest assured, the NCC Committee will be doing everything we can to get cricket up and running and hope that you will be #Committed2Nuna in 2021/22.

* Apparel *

Nuna apparel can now be ordered via this form to ensure delivery before the start of the season.

We encourage Juniors to order one of our new Nuna ‘Kangas’ top (see above sample) with their own name and number on the back. We hope to use these tops as our match day tops in future seasons.

Any queries please email apparel.

Juniors playing Seniors

For all Juniors playing Senior cricket this season, we will be asking parents to sign a permission form before playing Senior cricket. This will be compulsory for ALL U18 players who would like to play Senior cricket at Nunawading Cricket Club in Season 2021/22. Please reach out (juniors or 0402 260 545) if you have any concerns or queries.

Girls Cricket @ Nuna

Thanks to the hard work and dedication of Coach Rob last season and over the break, our girls numbers are looking promising. We may still have a relationship with Blackburn Cricket Club, but hope to have our own Stage 1 Girls team this season.
