Hi all,

We are not far from a start to the season. I hope that the weather turns around quickly!

We invite all Nuna families to the season launch on Wednesday 5th October, 7pm start. Don’t worry about cooking, as we will have pizza available for $2/slice and the bar will be open. It will be a chance to meet new families, purchase any last minute apparel, learn how to live score, meet our new child safe officer and get excited about the new season.

Season launch & live scoring demo
Date: Wednesday 5th October
Place: Nuna clubrooms, Mahoneys Reserve Pavilion
Time: 7pm start (pizza served & bar open), 7:30pm live scoring demo, 8:30pm finish

I encourage all team managers/coaches to attend as we will run through how to use the MyCricket Live Score app for live scoring of home games on the club iPads.

Child Safety
This will also be an opportunity to introduce the club’s new Child Safe Officer, Tom Taylor. Tom is a Senior player, a club committee member and a school teacher. Tom worked closely with the Junior club as the WWCC compliance officer last season, and kindly agreed to take on this additional role for Season 2022/23. I would like to thank Tanya Tynan who did a great job in this role, but whose son has moved clubs to play with friends.

The club has recently endorsed the Cricket Victoria 2022 Member Protection Policy (MPP); and Australian Cricket’s Commitment Statement and Policy for Safeguarding Children and Young People, along with the Looking after our Kids Code of Behaviour for Affiliated Associations Clubs & Indoor Centres. Nunawading Cricket Club will meet the expectations outlined in the above policies (all available on the club website). As a club, we are committed to meet the new Victorian Government 11 Child Safe Standards and create a welcoming, safe and inclusive environment for all members in Season 22/23.

See you all next Wednesday.

Cheers,
Andrew Siebel
